Treasurer, City of Eastport
The City of Eastport, Maine is currently seeking a full-time Treasurer.
Eastport is a small community of 1,250 with taxation of approximately $4 million. The Treasurer works with the City Manager and the Administrative Assistant to direct and execute the following tasks:
Accounts payable; warrant preparation; payroll and HR; account reconciliations; deposit preparation; audit preparation; grant reporting; revenue receipts; assistance with tax liens and foreclosures;
maintenance of financial records.
This is a full-time position with benefits including health insurance, vacation and MainePERS.
The ideal candidate has an educational background in accounting, municipal experience, and expertise with TRIO, the City’s accounting software. A degree in accounting and at least five years working in municipal finance are preferred. Candidates with equivalent experience are invited to apply. Salary is negotiable based on experence and qualifiications.

To pay sewer or property tax bills, you may use the drop box, the city website, mail or walk in. You do NOT need an appointment for sewer and property tax payments.
The Eastport City Council has assigned the Deer Committee to assess the impact of the deer population on the citizens of Eastport and to make specific, actionable recommendations to the Council concerning the management of the deer population. The Committee has been asked to consider a wide range of possible actions, from suggestions on how citizens can minimize issues with deer, up to the possibility of expanding hunting.

If you receive a sewer bill, you will also get a paper copy to submit if you prefer. If you do not receive a sewer bill and still would like a paper version, you can get one from City Hall during normal business hours.
The "Overnight Parking Ban" begins November 15th, 2025 through April 15th, 2026.
